A Note On the Problem of Response Set in Measuring Cognitive Distortions

An examination of the Cognitive Distortions Scale (CDS) in 45 sex offenders indicated that, on average, 81% did not endorse the items of the scale. Results suggest that response bias on the CDS is a significant problem that should be addressed before the scale can be used clinically.
